Service area questions
Do you charge more for areas further from Fall River?
There is no separate trip fee bolted onto the invoice. The flat rate we quote already reflects the distance, so what you are told on the phone is what you pay. What does change with distance is notice: Somerset, Raynham or Portsmouth wants a day's notice where Somerset or Swansea usually does not.
My town is not on the list. Do you still serve it?
Very possibly. This list covers the communities we deliver to most regularly, not the outer limits of where we will go. Call and ask — and if we genuinely cannot cover you we will say so rather than waste your time.
How do I know which municipality I am actually in?
Easier here than in most states. Massachusetts is divided entirely into cities and towns — 351 of them — and there is no unincorporated land anywhere in the state. Whatever your address, you are inside exactly one municipality, and that municipality sets your collection arrangements. Give us the full address and we will confirm it before we quote.
Am I inside the City of Fall River or somewhere else?
Worth knowing, because it decides what disposal costs you. The City of Fall River’s arrangements — the green trash cart, the blue and pink recycling carts, and the bulky item program at 10 Lewiston Street — apply inside the Fall River city limits and nowhere else. Somerset, Swansea, Westport, Dartmouth, New Bedford, Freetown, Berkley, Dighton, Rehoboth, Seekonk, Taunton, Acushnet, Fairhaven and Raynham are each their own city or town running their own arrangements. What does not stop at a city line is state law: the Massachusetts waste bans apply at every Massachusetts address, whichever town you are in.
Which of your areas are not in Massachusetts?
Three of them. Tiverton, Portsmouth and Little Compton are in Newport County, Rhode Island — and Tiverton begins immediately south of the city, close enough to walk to from some Fall River streets. The Massachusetts waste bans stop at that state line, and Rhode Island runs its own system entirely. We work both sides every week and handle the difference; you only need to know it is there. One more local surprise: Taunton is the Bristol County seat, not Fall River, which catches people out on anything county-level.
